Arete is a Greek word that encompasses and drives our way of doing business at The Farm. Ancient Greek stoics described Arete as a way of living your life that constantly strives to improve oneself and the world around you. From the food we feed our chickens, to the ground we steward, and the way we treat our customers, our goal is to pursue perfection in every possible way. We will improve, learn and grow from every experience to ensure you, as well as your food, are healthy, happy and sustainable.

Our Practices
Arete Farms specializes in pasture-raised broiler chickens and no-till gardening techniques that bring nutrient-dense foods to Sweetwater, Tennessee, and surrounding communities. Our chickens are moved around the pasture every day using what's known as "chicken tractors." The tractors are moved to fresh ground daily, giving our birds fresh ground under their feet, which helps keep them happy and healthy.
