Arete Farms is a small farm located in Sweetwater, Tennessee, owned and operated by Mike Mills. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and 10 years in law enforcement, I wanted to continue serving the community I lived in. I could see the need for nutrient-dense food, but also at an affordable price to those in my community, and from that need, Arete Farms was born.
Too often, government programs for single or low-income families barely supply basic nutritional needs, while organic, farm-fresh goods are priced too high to seem reasonable.
At The Farm, we look to change that outlook and show that healthy, fresh, local food is available and also affordable. Understanding that a community's wealth is found in its people, not in its wallets is the first step.
